This are my don't miss pubs. Each is worth a special effort to visit.

Birra A Fred top pick  Specializes in Italian Beers Usually has Franconian Beers

Italian Craft Beer Bar recently opened by Manuele Colonna of the famous Rome pub Ma che siete venuti a fa Also has a beer from Brauerei Knoblach in Schammelsdorf (Franconia)

Castle Pub A Fred top pick  WiFi available Opens at 11am or earlier.

They have moved, now in Mitte across from Nordbahnhof, It is now beer and coffee so they open early.

Pub in a residential neighborhood with an excellent selection of beer. Food is cheese and some sausages.

Corner pub with a great beer selection.

Small brewpub with a wide range of generally good beers.

These pubs just miss being a "Top Pick" but are well worth visiting.

Kaschk  Fred Honorable Mention WiFi available Opens at 11am or earlier.

Coffee and beer bar. Beers are mostly nordic.

Whisky, Rock & Roll and Craft Beer.

Muted Horn  Fred Honorable Mention New entry in the Guide in 2016 Usually has Franconian Beers

New craft beer bar (from October 2016) with an eclectic selection of beers.

Specializes in Eastern European beers. There now is a "Bar within a bar" called LABor with an additional 12 taps.
