This are my don't miss pubs. Each is worth a special effort to visit.

Italian Craft Beer Bar recently opened by Manuele Colonna of the famous Rome pub Ma che siete venuti a fa Also has a beer from Brauerei Knoblach in Schammelsdorf (Franconia)



Corner pub with a great beer selection.


Muted Horn A Fred top pick  WiFi available New entry in the Guide in 2016 Usually has Franconian Beers

New craft beer bar (from October 2016) with an eclectic selection of beers.


Protokol A Fred top pick  WiFi available New entry in the Guide in 2017

Modern craft beer bar with a mix of German and imported craft beer.


Small brewpub with a wide range of generally good beers. No food but nearby restaurants will deliver.

These pubs just miss being a "Top Pick" but are well worth visiting.

Biererei Bar  Fred Honorable Mention WiFi available New entry in the Guide in 2018

New bar by the Biererei bottle shop across the street.


Brewpub on a quiet street in Prenzlauer Berg.


They have moved, now in Mitte across from Nordbahnhof, It is now beer and coffee so they open early. Fifteen taps of interesting beer plus a few you'd expect from this history as a British pub,
